Social justice can only be achieved when individuals have knowledge of their rights and responsibilities under the law and have equal access to the legal system. SWSLC is therefore committed to educating our community.
SWSLC offers free legal seminars, workshops and information for community workers, clients of service providers, cultural associations, groups, agencies, etc. These take the form of:
Legal seminars and workshops are scheduled throughout the year on topical issues and areas of law. We hold public seminars aimed at community workers and the general public. Public seminars are open to everyone. A small fee may apply to cover the cost of venue hire and catering.
We can design seminars and workshops on a variety of legal topics that cater for your needs and interests, or those of your clients and we can deliver them at your premises. Special arrangements can also be made for particular language backgrounds.
Our domestic violence workers provide talks and organise training on issues surrounding domestic violence and its effect on individuals and the community.
Contact our office if you are interested in making arrangements. Please allow at least 4 weeks’ notice when making enquiries.
